"I always want an outstretched hand in music." — Bono

by John

Fantastic! The band was trying very had tonight. You could see the effort in their faces. Bono's singing was excellent and Edge was "on fire" - seriously!

Highlight had to be Still Haven't Found (first verse and chorus) sung by 90,000 without the band. Other big moments were Streets, One, Unknown Caller, Ultraviolet, Vertigo and Elevation.

As for the NLOTH songs, oddly enough Magnificent, which is the biggest song on the album, doesn't really take flight live. Breathe rocks and Get on Your Boots does too. No Line is ok (again, better on the album). Moment of Surrender is a great closer, but I wish Edge's guitar outro lasted a little longer. Unknown Caller is the best of the lot when played live.

Only minor criticism of a brilliant performance was the lack of use of the outer ring catwalk. What's the point of it? Bono hardly used it. Edge did his bit. I had a side-on view (Edge's side) and we only had Clayton over our way once.
