"I think that punk was born out of disillusionment, but with rock ‘n’ roll people had never thought they could feel like this before." — Edge

by Derek C

This was my 14th U2 show since 1987. How does it compare? Up with the best of them. I have no further time for the naysayers. "They've lost it." "They need to dream it all up again." Actually, I think you've lost a step. You need to move on. U2 is the best live band then and now. Period.

I hung by the VIP section with Damian Marley and his band/girlfriends standing in the General area right behind me. He loved when Bono sang a bit of Exodus.

They were in great form tonight and Bono seemed to be having a great time. It definitely was a better show than the one in May. They are really more comfortable now. (more loose, more use of the "rails") Elevation was great. It seemed that Sunday Bloody Sunday was the crowd favorite. Electric Co. rocked like it did years ago, maybe more so. The crowd singing the "ohhhhhh"'s during Pride still gets me every time. Still haven't Found is a great addition to the setlist. And I repeat what everyone says - his opera singing during Ms. Sarajevo is incredible.

The acoustic encore worked really well with "The First Time" and "SIAMYCGOO" nicely leading into a rocking "Fast Cars" ('If you like a greatest hits show, this isn't it' - Bono during Cars intro). With or Without You was great as always.

Show started a 9pm and went till 11:13.

Overall a 9 out of 10. Looking forward to tommorow night.
