"What I like about pop music, and why I'm still attracted to it, is that in the end it becomes our folk music." — Bono

I entered the Philly show as a veteran u2 concertgoer & having had closely monitored the setlists for this leg heading into the show. Overall, I'd say the show was better than Popmart but trails a little bit behind the rest.

I'd have to say the major highlights were (1) Electric Co - even knowing it was coming, it was still absolutely incredible & had the same band energy level as Out of Control during Elevation tour; (2) Zoo Station - heading into the show, I thought it was a curious selection but boy was I wrong - their performance floored me; (3) closing with 40.

As far as letdowns, (1) Streets - never thought I would write this as long as I lived, but the song that is usually hands down the best of the setlist was flat -- and dropping the signature red lights/full stadium lights 1 minute in was disappointing. (2) Bullet the Blue Sky - tough totop the NRA Elevation version -- time to retire it boys; and (3) absence of a fan-friendly "pick me up" song in the middle of the setlist like Trying to Throw Your Arms during Zoo TV and In a Little While during Elevation.

The crowd was strong at times (esp. SBS & 40) & flat at others. The danger in a Saturday night show (particularly on a beautiful day like yesterday) is a disporportionate number of completely drunk fans -- and it sounds like some were out there -- but my section (113) was great. Ok, onward to the House that Bruce Built -- Tuesday & Wed.
