"The first two lines of 'Where the Streets Have No Name' . . . it's this inane couplet." — Bono

by Søren A

Finally... 4 years after the Vertigo tour, they were back. And they decided to skip my city, Copenhagen. However, Gothenburg seemed like a perfect hub for Scandinavia allowing Danes, Swedes, Norwegians and god knows how many other nationalities to come together for two amazing night.

My 3 friends and I had GA tickets for the first show and seats for the second one.

Arrived around 1.30 PM and had to suffer the lack of organisation for 4½ hours. The queuing was horrible and the last two hours must not have been fun for smaller people. I know it wasn't fun for the four of us "grown" men!

Inside the stadium we were able to secure a spot in the inner circle next to Adam Clayton's spot. Snow Patrol were great, and at 9.35 PM the wait was over. First Larry, then Edge and Adam and eventually Bono took the stage and rocked the s... out of the stone age stadium. I am not a huge fan of Breathe, Boots and Unknown Caller, but they all worked really well live. Highlights for me were Until the End of the World, Crazy remix, Ultraviolet, Magnificent...

God I really wanted to hear Bad played live... But no!

Went to bed 40 miles east of Gothenburg (due to hotel rates!) smiling knowing that I would be back Saturday for the greatest band in the world.
