"I was reading about Jack Kerouac smoking a bag of grass and praying, literally, for a vision of a language or a way of writing that would be both precious and trashy. That's what I'm aiming for." — Bono

by Dman

Wow. My 2nd U2 show in 2 nights, the first two I've seen. Last night was good, but the crowd and the band clearly lost energy later on in the set. Last night was, in a word, phenomenal! Edge absolutely went off, having his family at the show probably had something to do with that! Until The End of The World was amazing, Edge was throwing some great rock star poses down on the b-stage and ripped out an enormous solo. The same goes for Love and Peace and Bullet and The Fly. Beautiful Day must have been about 8 minutes long, it just kept going! Bono sang 'hallelujah' over the outro, then we got Sgt. Peppers and Blackbird - amazing stuff. Streets seemed a bit flat on Friday but last night the crowd went nuts and Bono did his traditional-African-style vocals here and there. There wasn't a dry eye in the house when Bono sang a bit of Love Will Tear Us Apart in With Or Without you. Larry and Adam were on fire as well, both of them really seemed to enjoy the night. Adam was all smiles, Larry happily waved to the crowd from the ramps. The band had an incredible energy, full of joy and humour and being quite spontaneous - dragging out the outros of many songs. Desire was a shambles, but was all the more fun because of it!
