"What a city! What a night! What a crowd! What a bomb! What a mistake! What a wanker you have for President!" — Bono, in Paris, on Jacques Chirac, 1995

So 18 months after the tour started, Vertigo reaches Australian shores.
The result ? well it didn't quite capture the moment or the newness of the early european shows. THere was also a slight air of the band going through the motions, probably to fufill contracual obligations to their tour promoters and to their pacific fans, having waited nearly 10 years for the band to return.

For me the stand out tunes were Vertigo, Love and Peace, zoo station and the fly. The inclusion of "Saints" and "Kite" were outstanding, the former making me wonder why U2 bothered collaborating with Green Day on this. The version of Kite was outstanding, with the added addition of a guy on a digeradoo (sic).

The sound on some songs were a bit off, maybe some of the rain that greeted the start of the show was the reason for this.

Crowd control outside the stadium was a shambles, with people hopping in& out of the queue without any intervention from the 'staff'. Out of all the U2 gigs I've been to, the best ones have been in London.
