"I don't think that understanding what our beliefs are is important. What is important is that we get our audiences thinking about things for themselves." — Adam

by Darin

This was my first U2 concert and it was fantastic! I was right up front at the tip of the ellipse (not lucky enough to get inside) - but I actually think because they played a bit right at the tip this is a better spot than inside the ellipse a good part of the show. The pic of Bono with the confetti falling was when he popped up right in front of me as COBL opened the show. Edge was great, Adam was really into the show as well and smiling a lot and walking down the ellipse a few times. Was great to hear Who's Gonna Ride..., Crumbs, and Vertigo twice was cool but would've preferred 40 - but the crowd didn't seem to mind too much. The high point was probably the energy during and just after Streets, when it was probably the loudest and Bono stood there seeming to soak it all in after commenting how great the crowd was.

Also, about 2 hours before the show started, Bono, Edge and Adam all came outside by the entrance to the side of the building, right across from First Avenue - I ran from the GA line and was able to see them all up close, the crowd was huge and packed all around the nearby intersection and across the street outside O'Donovans pub. Bono, Edge and Adam all greeted and signed for at least 10 minutes, Bono then standing in the middle of everyone and acknowledging the crowd before he went inside - that really got a lot of people excited for the show after standing in line for a long time - it was great of them to come outside for so long. Thanks guys for a great show!
