"[A]ll music is praise. It's praise to the god of your making. Which, in the case of a rock star, might be oneself. Or a woman. Or an idea." — Bono

by Gary R.

WOW! 4th time seeing the boys, but first since Achtung Baby. I was so up for this show and they didn't disapoint. The set of "New Year's Day" and "Sunday Bloody Sunday" sent chills as I vividly recalled the first time I saw them at the LA Sports Arena in '83. Awesome opening with "Love and Peace" and then they hit you with "Vertigo" and "Elevation" and the entire crowd singing El-e-va-tion. Loved the tribute to Daniel Pearl at end of "Bullet" especially since he went to school near me and I know several people who knew him well. As I life long fan, I enjoyed hearing the tunes from Boy, but they do lose the audience and if it meant taking those songs out for say "Still Haven't found" and "Walk on", then that's a great trade off. "City of Blinding Lights" with the little boy on stage was tremendous. As for the encore, when your hear the first notes of "Pride" you just want to jump thru the roof. Pride sounded as good as I have ever heard and the entire crowd singing at the end was great. With a 25 year library of songs to choose from, its amazing to think of the songs they didn't perform like "Gloria", "I will follow", "With or Without" and the above mentioned and you still leave seeing an amanzing show and just wanting more. I hope to see them when they return in the fall. Keep up the great works boys.
