"Where rock ‘n’ roll becomes part of pop music I tend to lose interest." — Adam

by Joe Brown

Just got back from the show and it was simply amazing. This is my 4 show over the last 10 years and it was by far the best. I could, however, have been influenced by the luck of getting selected to be inside the oval.

It looked like the guys had some slight sound problems near the beginning of their set, but by New Years Day had definitely hit their groove. Edge is as on as ever and by the end of the show Bono had the crowd eating out of his hand.

Highlights of the show included a sprited version of Pride which I haven't ever heard live before. ending the show with 40 was a nice treat with the only wish being that they left the lights off longer for the audience to sing acapella. I am convinced that everyone would be there if they let it ring for a couple minutes and it is powerful to hear 20,000 people sing at once.

I agree with some of the other reviews of past shows on Zoo Station --> not my favorite song and it kind of doesn't seem to fit within the flow. That said, it does show of the Edge's amazing guitar ability.

All in all, a great and professoinal show from veterans who know how to get an arena rocking. I love U2 and only wish I could afford to go to more shows, they would each be worth it.
