[W]e have a bass player called Adam Clayton who is the only bass player you would miss if he wasn't there. -- Bono

What a fantastic show on a hot and humid Chicago saturday night! I live in Los Angeles but missed the LA Rosebowl shows because I was in visiting NY, so I had to fly to Chicago just to see this show! The things we U2 fans do, eh? My flight arrived in Chicago at 5:30 AM and I was in the GA line at Soldier Field at 6 AM. 15 hours later I'm in the second row by the Joshua Tree b-stage, just to the right where Adam likes to hang.

It was such a special show, so amazing to hear The Joshua Tree album performed live and in sequence, and with the revisions and additions they made to some songs resulted in a fresh and exciting performance. Edge was on point. Bono's voice was amazing and crisp however I was a bit disappointed that he didn't sing the Italian vocals in "Miss Sarajevo". Adam was having a blast as usual however Larry seemed distant and almost annoyed. They need to put Larry's drum kit in the center of the Joshua Tree stage, not pushed off to the side of the b-stage. Bono also seemed a bit more subdued and not jumping or running around as much, probably due to his age and saving his energy for the rest of the tour.

All in all it was amazing as usual, however I feel like the front row fans have a different show entirely. Try it one day, it's totally worth it to be awake for 39 hours straight!
