"There is, though, a huge difference in the end between pop and rock. It's something to do with pop telling you that everything is OK, and rock telling you it isn't." — Bono

First of all, I have to thank my friend and U2 Superfan, Alec, for helping me rediscover the band. This was my first U2 concert, but hopefully not my last. Saitama Super Arena is a great venue and the visual effects accented the performance wonderfully. On that note, the roadie sitting behind Larry Mullen Jr. should find a new seat where he won’t be prominently featured the entire performance.

Bono did a splendid job tailoring the show with some Nihongo, references to local landmarks in Beautiful Day, and Kanji on the screen during Miss Sarajevo.

The set was phenomenal with a couple notable flat spots – Elevation and The Fly seemed flat and a bit too raw, but the band hit paydirt with the Miss Sarajevo – Pride - Where the Streets Have no Name string.

In all, one of the best concerts I have seen and an experience I will never forget.
