"When I first met Anton [Corbijn] I had one request . . . make me look tall, skinny, intelligent, with a sense of humor. 'So you wanna look like me,' was his reply." — Bono

U2 Rocks Big D

I was absolutly blown away by last night's show, it was ten times better than I thought it would be. I arrived at the arena at about 3:30 to wait in the GA line, but it was worth the wait. They finally let us inside at about 6:15 and we were inside the heart. While we were in line, a guy behind us went down to the tunnel entrance and got to shake Bono's hand. He told us he could not belive how short he was!! We could here the band play The Fly during their soundcheck, it was loud and clear outside.
The show was simply amazing, the six new songs are instant classic's, everyone knew the lyrics. Everyone inside the heart were jumping up and down from the opening of Elevation until Walk On to close the show. I did'nt think Walk On would be a good closer, but I was wrong it was a perfect ending.
This was my second U2 concert, the first was at the Cotton Bowl for the Popmart tour. It was an amazing show, but we were about 100 yards away. What a difference it was to be only 10 feet away from the band. Bono was up to his usual antics working the crowd, at one point during New York he put on a cowboy hat. He did use a hand held spotlight during Bullet the Blue Sky, which was a throwback to the Joshua Tree days. The best show I have ever seen in my life, go see as many as you can, because U2 lived up to all the hype.
