"I am 'David Evans' to customs officials, policemen and sales assistants." — Edge

by Steve C

I've been watching the set lists and reading reviews since the tour started, so I was concerned about hype and worried about which songs they would and wouldn't play. They did not disappoint. I've seen U2 6 times since 1985, and this show was as good as the others.

They did not play New Years Day or Bad, two songs that I was really hoping to hear. No surprise on either count since they hadn't been playing them recently. That said, the new stuff, which I have been rejecting, sounded much better live. "I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight" was played as a remix and was excellent: Larry playing bongos going around the walk, and it was cool to see The Edge actually dancing at one point. "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" and "Until The End Of The World" were perfect, "Ultraviolet" and "Mysterious Ways" sounded a little slow, but I was happy they played them.

Thanks U2, it was good to see you again.
