"It is my ambition to travel to America and give it what I consider it wants and needs." — Bono, 1981

by Jonathan Sacci

WAKE UP! Everyone.... EVERYONE!!!!!
I sat in excitement as the lights turned off. My heart was racing, as I saw silhouettes of Edge, Larry, and Adam. The first notes rang. Then... BOOM! The stage lights went full blast, as U2 launched into the first verse of City Of Blinding Lights as the confetti fell, Bono went on the spot light, with his hands in the air. I knew this was going to be a magical night. After the opening song, Bono gave us some Spanish lessons. "Uno! Dos! Tres! CATORCE!" I couldn't believe I was there! This was my first U2 concert, and hopefully, not my last. After Vertigo, they played the hit Elevation from "All That You Can't Leave Behind". I love the new format of the song. They played their first hit, "I Will Follow". Then the arena turned into a church with "I Still Havn't Found What I'm Looking For". At the end, it was just the crowed singing, and clapping. It was a magical night for Atlanta. I will never forget that night. It was beautiful, emotion and spirituallity was in the air. Some of the highights for me were Miss Sarajevo, Untill The End of the World, and Where The Streets Have No Name, and Bad. I was dissapointed though. I really hoped they would play Yawheh, and 40. But, the show was FANTASTIC. Adam had a constant smile on his face. He is clearly having the time of his life. I hope to see them again for thier next tour, whenever that will be, and I hope it's soon.
