"We are far better at getting Amnesty International's message across in music than press conferences. We're just good at very noisy rock 'n' roll." — Bono

by Steve

Incredible show last night. I was on the floor outside of the ellipse on Edge's side. After seeing the May 9th Chicago show from upper deck, and this one from the floor, the floor is much better get "into the show," as long as you don't mind being packed like a sardine and are at least 6' tall.

Highlights for me were I Will Follow (incredible energy live), Bullet the Blue Sky (in which Bono sang "Please get up off your knees" after kneeling blindfolded. I would have loved for more of Please to have been inserted as it would have fit in nice, but it was not to be), and Until the End of the World (especially the solo where Bono did two all-out laps around the ellipse then met the rest of the band at Larry's set, with The Edge perched up behind the set tearing it up), also the whole next encore with The First Time, Stuck In a Moment, and of course, Bad.

I was struck by how songs that are good on the album, but definately not my favorites, turned into my favorites live - namely high energy songs like I Will Follow and Until the End of the World.

P.S. - I apologize to the people in front of me for my loud off-key singing through the entire show, but seriously, can you blame me?
