"I like boring things like loyalty, and I like to have a good time too." — Bono

by Greg

I'm glad to see that I wasn't the only one that was a little disappointed in the first Denver show.

I have seen U2 since the Joshua Tree tour. Those shows blew away the Vertigo tour, in my opinion.

Some of the oldies seemed tired. Some of the oldies last night I'll admit were GREAT, and the crowd really got into it.

The sound didn't seem that great. At one point my girlfriend commented, 'that sounded like a good song, but I couldn't make out the lyrics.'

The other disappointment was when it appeared that Larry was using a backing drum track. What's up with that?! I think it was on Bullet that I noticed it. Granted my seats weren't that great, but even at that distance there was definitely some drum sound, other than Larry live.

I had upper bowl seats, I refused to pay $180 for lower bowl seats. I got my tickets off ebay for about half the face value. If I had waited longer, I would've been able to get them for about a quarter of face value.

So the good news, so to speak, is that I didn't get as gouged on the ticket price as most people. Not to mention, I REFUSE to pay $35 for a $1 t-shirt.

And the weather sure was a kick! :)
