"I love to paint. I don't think it's just the fumes, but it might be." — Bono

by Robert

Perhaps this one the weaker U2 concerts I have been to (have been to 5 total in the last 10 years) Oakland Arena acoustics were not that great and at the start of the concert Bono's voice seemed only 50%, but did get better as the concert progressed.

The setlist was solid as some of the lesser known earliest material (from boy, etc) was taken out. The music was great but with the exception of a couple of songs the delivery seemed too mechanical, lacking emotion (I guess it is not easy to put the same level of emotion night after night) I have heard much more exhilerating versions of WSHNN, Sunday Bloody Sunday, Pride, Elevation, UTEOTW and even songs from this album on the first leg.

U2: Please take Bullet the Blue Sky out of the set list. This song sounds great on JT album but is very difficult to replicate live.

Verdict: Good show, but not great by U2 standards

Highlights: Love and Peace, Zoo Station, The Fly
