The Unforgettable Fire was a beautifully out-of-focus record, blurred like an impressionist painting, very unlike a billboard or an advertising slogan." -- Bono

by Matt

I drove four hours there and back that night to go to class the next day and it was SOOOO worth it. I was excited about seeing the best band in the world, but I did wonder how they were going to make the show unique and give it that extra spark after the grandeur of Popmart, of which I saw 2 shows. Man I left stunned and shocked at U2's creative ability to surprise and make a 'stripped down' show shine through with pure heart and passion. The stage and show were not completely stripped down, but definitely stripped down SOME compared to the last two tours, but U2 did not disappoint. Bono was energetic, eccentric, spontaneous, crazy, and passionate in his singing. Edge was THE reason that arena rocked so hard Monday night. All 4 were so passionate and energetic.
All the songs from 'All That You Can't Leave Behind" were performed with soul and perfection. I could go on and on forever about every song but three **PERFECT** performances were Bad, which was heavenly, Where the Streets Have No Name, which WAS heaven, and New York, which had great effects and classic Edge guitar ringing through the land.
AWESOME.
I'm going to the Atlanta show on Friday - and thank goodness I am. That was incredible.
GO TO THIS SHOW YOU WILL NOT BE SORRY!!!!!
