"In my head How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb is about my father, Bob, How To Dismantle An Atomic Bob. His demise set me off on a journey, a rampage, a desperate hunt to find out who I was." — Bono

by John

I travelled from Manchester ,England to see the show and boy was it worth it !!
With there use of a minimalist, heart- shaped stage set they managed to create an intimate ''CLUB " feel right from the begining , even with the house- lights up for the first number .
Then Bono waved his hand, the place darkend and they went into a two hour set more exciting, inventive, fun, powerful and emotional that I have seen from them since the small theatre tours of the early 80`s.
The new songs were great [especially New York ] AND THE OLD FAVOURITES NEVER SOUNDED BETTER.
It was wonderful to hear ''rare'' songs like Sweetest Thing and I will follow and to see Bono play piano -- he even provided a stroke of mellodrama when he fell off stage...
The crowd were great , on their feet immediately , dancing and baying for more all night .
The band certainly seem to enjoy themselves and once again proved that when U2 tour they are simply the best rock group on the planet .They are firing on all cylinders and the concert just reminds you of how great they and rock music can be.
I know there have been ticket problems for the tour [even though many of my friends tried we cannot get anymore tickets unfortunately-- if you have any spares for Manchester , please leave a message on England 0161 773 3195 -- you will make someone very happy!! ].
However , if you have a ticket for the tour start to dream now , because you will see live music at it`s best
U2 ,thank-you
