"It is when we are playing that we are at our most U2yness. I suppose in a way [it's] about purity, about the four of us and whoever the witnesses are." — Adam

by Dave

Rather than post a play-by-play of the show, I will instead post some thoughts. U2 sounded much tighter than usual for opening night. Edge did not appear to miss a single note, and Bono did not accidentally swap any verses. It was scary when Bono fell during "Until The End Of The World". Flashbacks to 1987 when he fell and broke his collarbone. There are 4 "isolation camera" monitors (four cameras stay tight on each member with its own monitor showing crystal-clear black and white images of each member). This is great because you can always see a close-up of the member you want to see, when you want to see it. Bono was in good voice and his voice did not fade during the night. Regarding General Admission: It was tight. It was sweaty. When Bono or Edge came close, it would push in tight but not in a violent way. You do need to pay attention and keep your footing, which was not hard having not had anything to drink, but I do see some drunk losing his footing and perhaps getting hurt at some point in the tour. There is plenty of room towards the back of the floor, so you can go there if you want more room. All in all, this was a great show, even by U2's high standards! You will love it!
