"Some people say that as they get older and/or have a family they mellow out. For me, the opposite is true." — Bono

by Gustavo GD

“There is nothing in this world that I haven’t already heard” and believe me, after Elevation 2001 kick-off concert in Miami, the SIAM phrase lost some validity. In other words, U2 did it again; they were simply amazing. The band looks and sounds more powerful than ever, their return-to-basics approach both lyrically and musically has placed them one more time as the greatest rock and roll band in today’s context.

The first date of their Elevation tour demonstrated once again what four individuals, who love music and are committed to the world they live in, are capable of doing. The stage was simple and classy. The repertoire was full of the old, the new and the new that sounds old (both the Fly and Discotheque were beautifully re-arranged and sounded anything but modern). The Edge was superb, and so was Bono.

They still feel and taste like a true band. They looked and sounded nervous in the first couple of songs (even Bono took a stumble) and that is amazing for a band that has played to millions during 20+ years. It only shows you their humble nature.

I heard they were applying for “the best band in the world” job, believe me “they have the job” I hope they never “let it get away”
