"As life-transforming as I think a U2 gig is, it's not life and death. Doctors, nurses and mothers have more important jobs." — Bono

by Topgun

Well, it's the next day and I'm not sure if I'll ever get down from the Heavens! My soul and body were truly elevated last night with what I'll describe as the most awesome concert I've ever seen.
I feel I can critique U2 as I've seen them 6 times including a small club show back in 1981. By far, this was the best they've ever been! The intimacy seemed to be there as if I was watching them at a small club.
I'm also not sure why there's a comment posted below the setlist which refers to Bono's voice. He sounded absolutely fantastic last night! Of course, the fans helped him out on just about every song, however, when he sang some of the ballads such as Stay and One, he hit the right notes. He sings with so much passion that there IS an excuse if he cracks a bit.
The highlights of my night, other than the entire experience, had to be Streets, Pride and Walk On. I also was wrapped up in New York as it's a song that I've not played too much...but, now goes to the top of my list.
There was quite a neat moment when Bono pulled a young woman up on the catwalk
(please excuse me for not remembering which song) and he let her lay on top of him...and then he reversed positions with her. She seemed completely overwhelmed!
The only other comment I have is for any of you who have "behind the stage" seating. My seat was in the lower section directly behind Larry Mullen Jr. and the seats were fantastic! Don't trade them for any others unless it's GA.
Rumour is swirling that they may be playing Ottawa on the third leg...I won't miss that show for the world!!!
Thanks guys, you are truly the world's greatest band!
