"I just keep the bottom end moving." — Adam

by HARRY

**********BAD REVIEW ALERT*********

This was my 1st time seeing U2. I went as a moderate fan but mainly for the excitement of seeing a stadium band in an arena. Frankly, I was disappointed. Other than Bono, the other members rarely left their positions. I thought Edge's feet may have been stuck to the floor...
But seriously, the crowd was electric but for a band as young as they are, I would have hoped for something more electrifying. I hate to compare, but once you've seen KISS in concert, your standard of a concert experience changes. I was also surprised how small Bono is in person! I would also recommend earplugs for anyone seeing this show to filter out a lot of the distortion. I would occasionally block my ears and could hear the music clearly. Another thing: Bono had little connection to the city or audience at this show. I think a little banter with the crowd personalizes the show. He gave a speech during Pride but it was about African slaves. Best moment for Harry? A fan brought an Irish flag. Bono spotted it way up in the bleachers. It was passed down from fan to fan until it made the stage and Bono laid it out over a speaker. It was pretty much the only connection he made to the crowd. You might be thinking: "Was this guy at the same show as me?!" Well, I'm all ears: harryb100@hotmail.com.
Oh yeah, I almost cried during P.J. Harvey's opening set. She just sucked!
