"I slept beside my father with the sound of the audience ringing in my ears during his dying days." — Bono, on being at his dad's bedside before he died

by Anne

This was my second U2 concert (the 1st was Elevation, Washington DC, 2001) and I have to say they were both absolutely wonderful.

I can't say I was impressed with the opening act and Patti trying to project her strong polictical views on everyone.

But of course U2 saved the day! I have to give it to Bono- as many causes and involvements in politics he is a part of, he manages to stay bi-partisan. I really think there is something to be said for that.

The music and sound was great. I would have liked to hear other songs from them, but I understand why their sets have to stay pretty similar. Any U2 music is a treat! Some highlights for me were, Sometimes you can't make it on your own (a very emotional song), Miss Sarajevo (his range was incredible- I really didn't know he was capable of that!) Pride, and Bad (both songs...you can just feel the energy in place- it's like no other feeling.

The show was amazing. U2 shows put me on a high that lasts a long time! This was a real treat for someone from Virginia to see them in NYC. I can't wait to do it again!
