"I'm proud that when people think of Ireland, they think about music, literature, filmmakers. They don't think about banks, about boring things." — Bono

by DanP

Saw show from sec 113, directly behind the main stage, about 20 rows up.  Really happy with the seats because the price was reasonable (about $70 + $16 fees) and the view was so close.  We could also see most of the video stuff happening in between the 2 stages.

Bono really sounded great tonight, and that's usually the primary difference of one show to the next.  His voice sounds better & younger than in previous tours.  He's able to hit those high notes again with power.

I like the variation in the setlists.  Gloria, October, and I still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For were all great to hear.

I do wish they'd replace Mysterious Ways with something more interesting.  Every tour they play it, and it gets more and more tedious.  Hoping to hear Out of Control instead of I Will Follow later this week.

Sound quality was very good for an arena, but I remember thinking the same about the Vertigo tour.  I'd say the sound quality was about equal.  Aside from the 360 degree sound effects in Raised By Wolves, not sure if the overhead speakers really changed things.

The show started at 8:25 PM and ended around 10:45 PM.  It's good to know in advance that "The Fly" is the very short intermission, because it's not obvious during the show, and having this knowledge means you've got just enough time to run to the bathroom or whatever.
