"But it wasn't the songs that were the attraction. It was the energy and commitment to performance that were fantastic even then. Bono would run around looking for people to meet his eyes." — Paul McGuinness, on U2's early days

by Clay Satterfield

I've been a U2 fan for a long time, but this was my first show. ZooTV was probably a more cohesive presentation, but I am very satisfied.

Mofo and Last Night on Earh were great, especially Last Night.... The band played that song with such energy, especially Bono. I've never seen him move around while playing guitar so much. Discotheque was cool, but lacked the pronounced "Booms" I was waitng for. I was looking forward to an entire stadium doing pelvic thrusts. The effects were spectacular, of course. I am a huge fan of Lara from Sony Playstation's "Tomb Raider". Look for her during "Bullet".

I was satisfied with the playlist for the most part. I do wish that Mysterious Ways and Bullet would be dropped, however. Bullet peaked during ZooTV. Since this was my first show, I would have preferred NYD, Bad, and 40. I think God Part ll and For the First Time would have fit in well also.

Maybe it's just me, but there did not seem to be many killer solos by Edge. But as always, he proved to be the coolest guy on the planet.
