"I'm not sure you ever get to be an ex-rock star. You can get to be a fading star." — Bono

by Don

This was my fifth U2 show and it was just legendary! I didn't have high hopes because of the bad acoustics in the Brussels venue, but I was in the right spot. They've never played better than this, Bono's singing has never been that good. The set list was amazing with plenty of songs I didn't hear live yet (especially Hold Me Thrill Me Kiss Me Kill Me). Too bad for my friend (his first U2 concert) they didn't play Sunday Bloody Sunday, but there are about 15 world hits that I would have loved seeing.

There were some technical difficulties; Dallas Shoo had to fix The Edge's guitar at the beginning of Elevation, but Bono reacted to spontaneously and playfully to such things that it was actually a big plus.

The band played with plenty of joy and the unique chemistry between them was sparking and contagious to the public. Plenty of people I know who stood on the ground in the rain and storm said they didn't feel the rain at all because it was simply that good. Apart from the many grand moments, the acoustic songs made you feel as if you were in a small room with just a couple of people. That's magical.

The "No Line on the Horizon" songs sound incredible now as opposed to one year ago; they really discovered how to bring them live (especially Get on your Boots). Highlight of the night was Miss Sarajevo.

They also sang a snippet of Michael Jackson's Don't Stop till You Get Enough at the end of In a Little While (not listed in the setlist on this website).

Brilliant!
