"I think it's, for us, a real triumph of trying to get to grips with what it to be a rock 'n' roll band playing in a stadium in the turn of the millennium." — Edge, on PopMart

by Dawnelle

I have been attending concerts for forty-five years. My passion for live music is so great that in the late 60s and early 70s I would charter a bus and sell seats to fellow underage concertgoers. A lot of work, but the only way, and so worth it!

I have seen hundreds of shows, including legendary bands such as Led Zeppelin (4 times), The Doors, The Who, Aerosmith (more than 20 shows), Radiohead, Tool, Jethro Tull, The Moody Blues and The Dave Matthews Band 102 times. I have been to Bonnaroo several times and Woodstock '94 and '99.

At the end of last evening, my conclusion is that I saw the best concert I have seen or will ever see.

It is completely astonishing that a band so successful for the long term can inject such passion into a performance. Every song felt to me as if it was the best version ever, excepting "Sunday Bloody Sunday", as the Red Rocks version can never be surpassed. It is not at all necessary for U2 to be working so hard in 2011. The world has changed much and is a difficult place. Four magicians transported us to another time and place last night, and we thank you.

I would be beyond thrilled if a DVD of that show became available so I could watch again and again.

Thank you, Mr. Rooney!
