"The musicians are only ordinary people. It's the music which is extraordinary, if you like." — Bono

This is my 2nd U2 concert this year - i caught the 10/10 concert at MSG. That concert was a let down because Bono didn't have much a voice, so I was hoping for a blow-me away concert tonight. I have to be honest, Bono started out flat. City of Blinding Lights, Vertigo and Elevation - which all have the potential to blow a concert right open were just okay. However, as the concert progressed Bono's voice picked up - and all-in-all I think this was a better concert in terms of his voice than the one I saw at MSG. Bono, as usual, nailed the Pavarotti solo in Ms. Sarajevo.

I loved Gloria and the song highlights for me were Original of the Species, Love and Peace or Else and Where the Streets Have No Name.

My biggest dissapointment was that I thought the crowd in Hartford, at least those in the sections around me (I was in 110) was dead. As opposed to the concert in MSG where there was no one sitting throughout the entire 2.5 hour concert, everyone in my section was sitting. Very few were singing, and some people seemed to enjoy the Beatles/Lennon music more than the U2. I am not sure what the point of going to a U2 concert is if you are just going to sit there. U2 is for rocking to. Even Elevation couldn't get the crowd going and they seemed asleep during Love and Peace or Else.

I know Instant Karma has gotten bad reviews from prior shows, but I think U2 did a great job covering it tonight.

All in all - I was happy, but not ecstatic with the concert - if the crowd had been into it this would have been the best day of my life.

I can't wait until U2 opens a new tour.
