"It's a total audience assault. You certainly wouldn't want to be doing the wrong drugs out there." — Adam, on Zoo TV

by Dan Eliot

Well, for me, this was the best show of the tour that I've heard (via BitTorrent) or seen (three shows and counting).

I had a great spot on Edge's side about 5 rows back from the ellipse against the back barrier. The Arizona crowd reminded me of, say, a Portland crowd in that they weren't as jaded as an LA crowd, knew the songs, and were ready to participate and have a good time. Good people with an overall laidback mentality.

The band were "locked in" from the start and Bono, in particular, seemed VERY happy with the response of the Arizona crowd. Everything seemed to click from the beginning and didn't really let up until the end.

High points include Bono's passionate delivery of Bad, Adam's willingness to interact with the audience by going "on walkabout", Bono's "magic trick", and the Snippet of "In God's Country" added to "Beautiful Day".

Great show and one of the best of all the shows I've seen. This was my 23rd U2 show!

Dan
