"If we stay in small clubs, we'll develop small minds, and then we'll start making small music." — Bono

by worldclassfad

Last night was definitely an "on" night...the energy and momentum generated from the first moment they took the stage was carried through until the very end. The addition of "Until the End of the World" so early on was phenomenal. "Stay" was an amazing surprise, even though Bono flubbed the lyrics. The claw is simply a work of art which drew the assembled masses into a communal feeling. The technical innovation was beyond compare. Strip it all away, however, and you have a stadium performance by four guys who've been playing together since teenagers. "Still Haven't Found" was a mass sing-along and "Sunday", which can be plodding sometimes, was on fire. Other standouts include "Ultraviolet" (some of Bono's best singing, along with Larry as well, and "The Unforgettable Fire", which was beautifully arranged. Dropping "Pride" and "New Years Day" from the set list allowed for 6 for songs from NLOTH. I flew from St. Louis to see the show. It was worth every penny. Memories to last a lifetime...
