Words and music did for me what solid, even rigorous, religious argument could never do -- they introduced me to God. -- Bono

by David A''Bear

I don't even know where to begin. I just attended the concert in Vancouver and I am just in awe. The concert started a little late as they were having technical glitches and wanted to make everything was perfect as they were filming some of the concert. I am guessing for the "City of Blinding Lights" single as well as their upcoming appearance on Good Morning America. The band opened with "City of Blinding Lights" and the crowd went crazy. From there the energy of the concert just kept building. It was fantastic to see the whole band moving around the ellipse and not just Bono. The band was playing so tight and you can clearly see how much fun they are having. Usually a fan would list their highlights of the concert but when the entire set was a highlight, you can't get much better than that. Every song was perfect. I was really glad to see them play Gloria as well as the Zoo TV encore. Wow, what a flashback! 40 was the perfect ending and U2 clearly had the crowd in the palm of their hands as we continually sang, "How Long, to sing this song!" After the concert, I had the pleasure of meeting Paul McGuinness and Gavin Friday. Gavin had just flown in from Dublin and was suffering a little jet lag. However, I still managed a great conversation for about 5 minutes. He told me he has a new album coming out next year and will be touring! I thanked him for teaching Bono swagger and attitude! Thank you U2 for an amazing experience!
