And my old man was into opera, which, as far as I was concerned, was just heavy metal. I like those bawdy opera songs. -- Bono

The Austin show was my first u2 concert ever. A friend convinced me to camp outside the Frank Erwin center the night before the show in my car. Although we only got about 2 hours of sleep, I am so glad he did because the concert was amazing. First, we met some really cool people in line (we numbers 5-8 in the line of 300 people). Once we got into the Erwin Center, we decided to be on the point of the heart . We placed ourselves surrounding one of the 3 small stepping platforms. I can't tell you now exhilarating and cool it was for them to be singing and playing right in front of you. During one of the first songs, Bono came up and stood on our platform. We basically held him up as he leaned over the crowd. I am not a groupie or anything .. but it was so awesome. He leaned in over us and grabbed my hand while he sang a few versus of a song. .. how cool is that!!!!

I never thought I would say this, but it was by far the best concert I have ever been to. There was just something about the enthusiasm of the band that made the crowd go crazy... they had such passion in their work. If you ever get a chance to go see them play... you should.. you will be amazed.

I know this sounds kind of cheesy but i am now an avid fan!
