To carry each other is not a burden at all but a kind of privilege.-- Bono, 2004

by Chad

Well, I just arrived back in Houston after attending last night's show. I must say that it was a ton better than the Houston show back in April.
I arrived at the Frank Erwin Center about 6:45 and was right at the tip on the outside of the heart. That's gotta be the best place to be for a U2 concert.
Highlights of the show were "Wild Honey," "Please," and of course "Streets." Bono also borrowed a cowboy hat from this georgous blond, played a few songs, then brought her up on stage for a hug and kiss. When she looks back on her college years, that's got to be the highlight of her years at U.of Texas. Some of their other popular songs weren't played, but they weren't missed either. As I drove into Austin, I heard "With or Without You" three times on different radio stations, by the time I arrived at my hotel. I like the song, but didn't miss it.
The band seems much more energetic on this leg of the tour. I spoke with tons of fans who've seen tons of Elevation tour shows and they all agreed that the third leg of the tour is their best. Bono looked like he was really putting effort and giving all of his energy into the show. They also seemed to play some of the songs at a bit faster pace which sounded so much better than before when I saw them. It was also nice to see such a large number of young people mixed with the "old-timers." Austin, Texas was definetly rocked last night. If you get a chance to see them on this leg of their tour, don't pass it up!
