"A song of ours that relies on its studio production to work is generally a song we play once or twice and never play again." — Edge

by Michael Rainnie

Really good concert. I was one of the people that watched the Pop Special (which I heard was the lowest rated show in ABC history) so I had some idea what to expect. I did have a chance to see them in Brisbane, Australia in '94 but I was traveling around and didn't want to have to be in Brisbane for so long.

I don't have much new to say as the highlights for me were Mofo, the singalong of Pride, seeing the screen come on, for the first time, Bullet and Miami (the production did add to the show, although it seemed really forced and fake with pulling the girls out the crowd). I was kind of left wondering if they were told what to do before the show. Even the guy running up on stage seemed planned, but I guess it wasn't after reading other reviews.

View from my seats in the 3rd level were fine as I was probably closer to the stage than being on the lawn at Great Woods. Everytime I hear Hold, Kiss me I like the song more and more and the pictures of dead celebs was very effective.

Finally, I would say that One has to be one of the best songs of all time for any band and a great closer. In one of the other reviews somebody said one of the songs off POP was their least favorite U2 song. My vote goes for Wild Horses.
