"The thing that's most oppressive in our era is celebrity. And that's why people want to burn my house down. I think I understand that." — Bono

Traveled and attended Louisville June 16 show prior to announcement of this leg of tour. Had mixed feelings after that show. Sitting across the street at Detroit Tiger game, could hear the distant rumble of the sound check about 3-330pm. Just could'nt resist the temptation of not seeing them in my hometown since 1985. Went online and may have gotten the last 2 GA tickets, must have been late releases after the staging was set. Got an excellent spot, dead center of main stage and about 20 feet off the tree stage. Unlike Louisville, this crowd had some pre-show buzz. As 9pm neared, people clapping and cheering between the pre-show taped music, anticipating the boys taking the stage. Right from the start, crowd was into the band/show and evident the band was too. Bono's voice seemed a bit strained compared to Louisville. He hit more power notes in Louisville (NYD, One Tree Hill, Exit). Overall sound was good for the indoor stadium, Edge on fire, Adam and Larry always solid, some heavy bass distortion, but it was fixed. Set list was the same as Louisville, except for the dropping of Miss Sarajevo, replaced by Mysterious Ways. (Good move to replace Miss S). For me, strongest and favorite part of this show is the first 8-9 songs, especially the first 5. Don't be late and miss any of these. Appearance of Patti Smith was a nice surprise. The reworked/reordered encore was much, much better than Louisville. Other reasons this show was better overall, seemed like more performance video of band shown onscreen during performance for those further away, less political ranting overall (seemed the pre Exit Trump segment was shorter), Bono much more positive, order of encore brought energy back up and One as closer better than Vertigo. This was the U2 show I was looking for in Louisville. Left this show completely satisfied.

Looking forward to the new SOE album.

Their catalog is soooo deep, would have no problem buying tickets for a tour of deeper, less often played material.
