One of the things I love about music is that it is still magic. And part of that magic is its ability to turn into something else in a given moment. -- Bono

by Michelle Llewellyn

This was my second show. In April I flew to San Jose to catch U2 on their 1st leg but Salt lake was ever so much better! This being the second to the last show on their final leg in America U2 only gets better each time they play a live venue. The sound was perfect. City of Blinding Lights opened the show as Bono stepped up to the elipse amid screams and cheers. Bono and Edge were grinning at the opening of Elevation as everyone was already singing "WoooWhooo" and Bono just took another swig of water, mimed looking at his watch and said "I'm just flirting with you!" before starting the first verse of the song. The crowd sang loudly with each and every song. At least I did. I love to sing. There was one scary part during Miss Sarajevo as Bono's voice faltered during the Pavarotti solo but we love him anyway. Not everyone can be an opera singer. I absolutely LOVED hearing Bono play and sing Norweigan Wood. He picked 3 lucky people to come up on stage #1 was a woman in a Santa hat and red and white fur trimmed swanky dress called up during Beautiful Day. #2 was a small child who got to sing "No More!" during Sunday Bloody Sunday. #3 was during Mysterious Ways/With or Without You-Bono's girl. I love his apprieciation of diverisy we have too many white people here in Utah. U2 did their usual 3 encores including the acustic version of Stuck in a Moment as performed during Elevation. Loved the concert. Met lots of cool people and had a great time! Oh, yes, and when Adam came strolling down the runway stumming his bass and wearing that big grin of his as if he had all the time in the world to play for us; I got to touch his bass when he condecended to us fans!
