"I still wince every time I see myself in that scene." — Bono, on his cameo in The Million Dollar Hotel

by Mark

Great gig. Too short of course - pesky curfew. The lads seemed really up for it. It must be just me but I really don't get Unknown Caller - some of the previous reviewers mentioned it as a highlight but I find the song stilted, unnatural and just not fun to listen to. I thought Larry in particular was on form on Monday.

I was so thrilled by the addition of New Years day but I think that the final piece could be better - Moment of Surrender is too limp for me. I'd prefer something with some punch like "I will follow" or "Magnificent". Another factor is that the stage doesn't really start to work until the light faded about 9:45 so I think Magnificent was a bit lost being so early in the set list. Can only agree with what's been said before - the stage is incredible but the lack of the full 360 is definitely felt in croker. With the empty hill I actually think the elevation tour's setup worked better.
