"But it wasn't the songs that were the attraction. It was the energy and commitment to performance that were fantastic even then. Bono would run around looking for people to meet his eyes." — Paul McGuinness, on U2's early days

34th U2 concert for me. Fly into Dublin, the vibe is cool. Got to the ground at 16:00 thousands outside and eventually get a place about 5 rows back from the outer circle. Show time, Breathe is a stupendous opener, followed by a further 3 songs from NLOTH! Brave or arrogant? In my opinion genius, an inspired decision. Fervour, ambition, resolve and love flowed through the band; there are no prisoners to be taken tonight. The Auld Triangle brought a 40 + year old man to tears... Ahem...
Moment of the night, well there are many but I must say the achingly haunting MoS just wins, here is a vocalist and a band at the top their game. See you on the 14th August; I am taking my 9 year old daughter to her first rock concert, bought cat A seats much to my wifes dismay.
Thank you U2, you have been an integral part of my life and I am proud to be a fan of your band!
