[T]here are so few artists owning up to what it's like to have both fears and faith. -- Bono

by Dwight!!!

What an amazing show I saw, from Elevation and Beautiful Day to some the classics Sunday Bloody Sunday to Kite, Stuck in A Moment and Little While (the definite highlight of my evening) to Streets Have No Name, Pride and an amazing encore, to the really cute girl I met on the line for beer (I owe you $)... this was one of the greatest musical experiences if not greatest experiences of my life.

I had never seen U2 before in person until this evening, I had heard so many awesome things about the Madison Square Garden Elevation shows. My expectations were definitely high and this show delivers. Even from my nose bleed seats (last row - behind the stage) the energy, and flawless playing I witnessed was incredible. Whoever designed the stage bravo, the heart design was a stroke of genius.

My only complaint was because of the weird acoustics while I could make out what Bono was singing when he was speaking in between songs I couldn't understand everything. But I would rather hear the music and lyrics then the stuff in between.

As I said before, In a Little While was a highlight of the show for me (Edge finished singing the song)... the best moment perhaps was hearing some of the classics including Pride and With or Without You in person... just like hearing them off the album. But without a shadow of a doubt, hearing the 19,000 Meadowlands crazies sing along with Bono as he sang One is something I will never forget. That song means so much to me and obviously it has had the same effect on so many other people.

I hear that U2 will be bringing this show back to the states in the fall. You must go see this show - it is quite simple - if you've seen a million U2 shows or none (like me)... if you like the old stuff or really dig what's on All That You Can't Leave Behind, this show moves with energy (even when Bono messes up the lyrics, it is all good).

PS Was "The Boss" Bruce Springsteen at the show, because of the acoustics I couldn't quite tell if that what Bono said.
