"I try to avoid fashion if at all possible." — Edge

The U2 – Elevation 2001 at the Compaq Center (Houston, Texas)

This was the show of all shows!
The night couldn't have been any better.
I was shocked by the support of our fans and the vast span of ages represented.
As soon as "Elevation" began and the boys took to the stage, the place went wild!
I was in section 108, row "L" and Bono may have been 25-30 feet away when standing on the heart-shaped stage extension. My wife and I were stunned to see that he was so close to us. Later during the show, every member was introduced by Bono himself and they had to walk out to the farthest point of the heart to greet him. Larry, Adam and The Edge all walked in front of us! I yelled as loud as I could at certain times. My voice was soon history. My wife must have thought I was crazy with all of my dancing, yelling, and general craziness.
What songs stood out the most for us? “Elevation” started the show and set the upbeat mood that was not to be broken. Just hearing “New Years Day” was a treat in itself and a blast from the past. The Edge electrified “I Will Follow”. My wife was living for “Sunday Bloody Sunday” and she got her wish. I was extremely happy to finally hear “Bad” and “Bullet the Blue Sky” live and in person. That was a pure dream that came true for me. I must say however, that “Where the Streets Have No Name” stole the show with the loudest applause and the most excitement and fan support. I knew before attendance, that “Walk On” would end the show and it was the sad reality that all good things must pass.
