"He shoots the music you are making, who you can be rather than who you are." — Bono, on Anton Corbijn

by Jones WI

U2 lived up to expectations yet again.  If you saw the IE tour, you need to see the EI tour.  Starting the show with Bono's MRI immediately snaps us back into realizing that even our heroes are human.  When we got to the intermission, it was hard to believe that much time had already passed.

Highlights included the intermission video for Hold Me, Thrill Me.....  There was plenty of humor to be found in there.  The return of MacPhisto was a nice touch for fans as well.  The acoustic version of You're the Best Thing was beautifully performed with close harmonies by band members.  The E stage had a plethera of animation for those sitting up higher to watch.

The encore songs included 2 beautiful songs from the Experience album.  The best part was at the end where ***spoiler alert***  Bono pulled the light out of his house.  Everything came full circle from the IE tour.  He started under he bedroom light, and now sings about light coming from darkness as he pulls the light out of his house.  Bono has found the good that was in his house and world even though as a teen it seemed so bleak after the loss of his mother.  A touching moment for a U2 fan.

If you go, make sure you are familiar with the last 2 albums of music as they provide the narrative for most of the show.
