Psalms and hymns were my first taste of inspirational music. -- Bono

by Gregory K

This is my second "E+I" show, the first being in St. Louis. The guys seemed a bit more woke, a bit more chummy, a bit more high-energy, Bono a bit more angry. Perhaps because they're recording the show? Because of whose occupying the White House less than a mile away? Hard to say.

Setlist from previous show in St. Louis and tonight was pretty much the same, with only slight changes. Sitting behind the stage, the guys did give us some love, but, as you would expect, we did see the back of their heads a lot.

Bono's voice was in good shape; a Vox performance. However, it didn't seem to be a sellout, and tomorrow's show still has tickets available. Is U2 fatigue a real thing? All in all, better than an OK show, perhaps not a super show, I'd give it a solid B. Merchandise lines were long, and they sold out of the special Washington DC shirt (megaphone) before I could buy one. Ah, well.
