"McDonald's called, but I think they have a sense of humor. And as I've said, the parabolic curve has no copyright." — Paul McGuiness, on the PopMart tour arch

by Dan Brennan

Drove in from Chicago to see it. This was the third show in four weeks for me (saw them in Lansing and Chicago). Arrived in the GA line at 5:00 am in order to get close to the front rail inside the circle. We got the spot we were aiming for! Was not disappointed even with the intense heat and humidity!

It's amazing to me that even with a standard setlist, U2 brings such creativity and passion to the same songs. Highlights of the night include Bono pulling out the old setlist from their first St. Louis concert and joking about it's short length. Bono also had to change shirts at least three times. He also engaged the crowd much more in this show than in the Chicago and Lansing shows (he sang with several young men around him and then brought a boy up with him).

The snippet of Hallelujah was a special treat. I've never been as close before so it seemed like a fresh and altogether different energy was present. The opportunity to see their faces for most of the concert was special (I think Edge looked sorta surprised when Bono told him to take over while he did his first shirt change). Great show. Would sweat in the GA line all over again to experience the show. Also, would like to give a shout of praise to the planners and St. Louis Fire Department for providing the misters and the huge fan for us waiting in the GA line.
