To carry each other is not a burden at all but a kind of privilege.-- Bono, 2004

by Stephen Wade

This was my first U2 concert and also the first for the rest of my family, what an awesome show!!! It was really hot but our seats were pretty high so it wasn't too bad when U2 came out at 9. Awesome to see my Dad who is Bono's age and little brother who is 13 equally into the show! Mom and girlfriend loved it and they arn't even big fans. Thought it was pretty funny that all the band members came out in short sleeves except Bono. He lasted three songs and switched to the tshirt. Awesome to see those four guys having a good time up there. A really cool thing about the show was when Bono pulled out a setlist the band played in St. Louis almost 30 years ago. They played I Will Follow for an opener and an encore! Really cool how he connected with the crowd. Brought some guys on stage during Elavation and a kid during City of Blinding Lights. Gave a great shout out to the victims of the tornado in Joplin before Moment of Surrender. Only complaint is the price of the ticket for being so far away and wish they played more 80's stuff and less Achtung baby. "Until the End of the World" was awesome though. Saw Bon Jovi earlier this summer and U2 was about 1000 times better. Some bands age better than others. Hopefully they still got a few years left of making new music and touring!!!
