The legendary rock band U2 made their first-ever live performance in İstanbul on Monday night as part of their 360deg Tour.

U2 stayed on the stage for more than two hours and played 23 songs. Nearly 50,000 U2 fans enjoyed their songs such as Beautiful Day, Mysterious Ways, Pride, Sunday Bloody Sunday and Walk On.

Referring to Bosphorus Bridge that connects Europe to Asia in İstanbul, U2's vocalist Bono said he walked on the bridge a day before the concert and explained how it was important for him to be in Turkey.

During the concert, a young woman from the audience joined Bono for a dance on the stage for "In a Little While" after Bono sang part of his song laying on her lap.

Bono also invited Turkish composer, writer and singer Zlf Livaneli to the stage. The two sang "Yiğidim Aslanım Burada Yatıyor", a Livaneli song, together.

Bono closed the show saying, "Let's not make it so long before we come back" before launching into "Moment of Surrender."

The concert was attended also by several Turkish ministers such as State Ministers Egemen Bağış and Hayati Yazıcı.
