"There's always room in rock 'n' roll for some stuff to start happening at a grassroots level, and the most interesting stuff seems to start there." — Edge

by Mike

Well, they did it again, another extremely over priced ticket that was money extremely well spent. This group truly defines superstar. They make every city feel like it is their favorite to perform in. The have made some significant acts to make any Phonician believe that U2 loves Arizona.
Elevation was an incredible opening number followed by Beautiful day. Sunday Bloody Sunday was as good as it was in Red Rocks in 83. One piece of info that has escaped most reviewers, at the end of elevation he sang a little snippet of In Gods Country "Desert sky deep beneath the desert sky." To pay omage to Arizona. Also one of the other side musicians began to play Bad and Bono simply held up his hand and he stopped playing. I was a little disappointed that they didnt play sweetest thing, but Stay certainly made up for it. Bono and the Edge then performed a goosebump drenching Stay, faraway so close. The crowd was into it and knew most of the new songs. It was great and so was the crowd I cant wait to see them again in New jersey. I can only imagine what I will be instore for then.
A+ for U2 A+ for the fans
