"To some people the church is their ticket to respectability, a certain bourgeois point of view, a safety net for when they go to bed. My idea of Christianity is no safety net, a scathing attack on bourgeois values, and a risk to respectability." — Bono

Comments: A newspaper ad (above right) a week before the show mistakenly lists Clannad as the opening band.

Massive crowd control problems force the band to stop in the middle of "I Will Follow" when security gets too rough with the fans. Later, more crowd problems arise and "Gloria" is stopped mid-song as security guards are brought onstage to try to quell the crowd.
