"We were working class in 1978 when we formed. We were working in 1983 when we hit paydirt. But now more than ever, we are working class men. We take our work seriously. Our work is music. But we don't take ourselves seriously." — Larry

Comments: U2 performs four songs for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and is the sole guest on the show, which is taped for airing on May 8. The entire band sits for an interview with Fallon, and the show includes the live performances of "Beautiful Day" and "Song For Someone." NBC posts "Angel Of Harlem" online as web exclusive clip, and a usually reliable source tells us that U2 also performed "California" for the audience after the show taping ends. Clips from U2's Grand Central busking performance also air during the show. The band's appearance makes up for the postponement of U2's week-long residency on The Tonight Show that had to be canceled last November after Bono's bike accident.
