Comments: U2 make their first appearence on Saturday Night Live. Bono namechecks Joey Ramone during "Beautiful Day," who is in attendance. Later, during "Elevation," Bono goes into the TV studio audience, harkening back almost 20 years to the bands very first US TV appearence on the Tomorrow Show. Bono then sings a snippet of The Doors "Light My Fire," in reference to show host Val Kilmer, who played Jim Morrison in the movie, The Doors.
